Members of national women`s groups are hoping to meet with President-elect George Bush to discuss the needs of working women at the Women`s Agenda Conference II in Kansas City, Mo. Jan. 6-8.
The conference is being organized by the National Federation of Business and Professional Women`s Clubs Inc. of the United States of America.
The vice president`s aides said Bush has a crowded preinaugural schedule but is ”very interested” in attending, according to a conference
spokeswoman.
Other invited guests include Senate Minority Leader Robert Dole (R., Kan.), former transportation secretary Elizabeth Dole, Democratic pollster Celinda Lake and Republican pollster Linda Divall.

”The Women`s Agenda Toward Workforce 2000: A Public & Private Partnership” is the only conference planned for 1989 organized cooperatively by women`s rights groups and labor unions, business leaders and elected officials. Representatives of more than 60 organizations are expected at the three-day event.
The conference will offer 20 workshops covering issues such as economic equity, child care and welfare reform. Women leaders in politics, education, business, health care and the media will be honored at a special luncheon.
