Hinsdale High School District 86 is inviting students, parents, staff and community members to play an active role in shaping the district’s future by volunteering to serve on its Strategic Planning Task Force.

District officials are encouraging community members interested in participating to submit an interest form by Oct. 23. To maintain balanced representation across stakeholder groups, not all applicants will be selected to serve, they said. Interested community members may complete a form online at www.forms.gle/wB3QNRfAFfrhnaPk9.

“The district is beginning a community-informed process to renew its strategic plan, with an emphasis on collaboration, stakeholder engagement and long-term district priorities,” the district said in a statement,

During a Sept. 29 goal-setting workshop, the District 86 board developed preliminary Vision Focus statements and goals for each of its six priority areas. The board is expected at its Oct. 27 meeting to review and formally adopt the statements and corresponding district goals.

Following board adoption, the Strategic Planning Task Force will work alongside Superintendent Chip Pettit to identify actionable steps aligned with the board’s approved priorities.

Task force members will also help inform how the district measures progress, evaluates outcomes and monitors its success in achieving established goals.

The strategic planning process is scheduled to take place from November through February 2027 and will include approximately four meetings, each lasting two hours.
