AGGRAVATED BATTERY: Cinnamon B. Brown, 33, Chicago, was arrested Sept. 2 and subsequently charged with aggravated battery to a police officer and disorderly conduct after punching an officer in the shoulder inside a grocery store in the 7700 block of Cicero Avenue, police said.
GANG ACTIVITY: Officers dispatched early Sept. 12 to a house party in the 7700 block of Laramie Avenue for the fourth time because of noise encountered members of two Chicago street gangs among the guests, police said.
Crete
REPLICA GUN: Officers questioned a Crete-Monee High School student Sept. 23 after the student tried re-entering the school for an extracurricular activity with a BB gun/replica pistol, school officials said. Metal in the concealed weapon triggered the school’s security system, which is used to check all re-entering students, school officials said.
Evergreen Park
AGGRAVATED BATTERY: Chyanne S. Franklin, 28, Chicago, was arrested Sept. 5 and subsequently charged with aggravated battery after hitting a public safety officer with thrown crutches at OSF Little Company of Mary Medical Center, 2800 W. 95th Street, police said.
Lansing
HOUSE PARTY: Dozens of teens heading north to Calumet City from a house party in the 17100 block of Burnham Avenue prompted officers to shut down the Burnham Avenue bridge at 170th Street the evening of June 28, police said. Officers ended the party, dispersed more than 100 youths, ticketed Sharita L. Taylor 49, for keeping a disorderly house and safeguarded the juveniles until their parents arrived, police said.
Lockport
SLOTS BURGLARY: Four people entered Rocco’s Pub, 16716 W. 159th St., early Sept. 22, through a pried open window and damaged three video slot machines in order to remove cash boxes, police said. Extent of damage and monetary loss was unknown at the time of the report, police said.
AGGRAVATED BATTERY: Emmanuel M. Hudson, 18 17600 block of Village Lane, Lockport, was arrested Sept. 23 and subsequently charged with aggravated domestic battery/great bodily harm, police said.
New Lenox
BANKING SCAM: A resident reported Aug. 20 being conned out of $2,733 by an online scammer posing as a local bank branch employee who said someone was trying to withdraw funds from the resident’s account, police said. The scammer persuaded the resident to continue the discussion on the Apple FaceTime social networking app, directed the resident to move money between accounts and then instructed the resident to withdraw the money and put it on Chime credit cards the scammer provided and accessed, police said.
SLOTS BURGLARY: Officers responding to an early Sept. 5 call of three males exiting Route 30 Liquors, 356 Maple St., found a glass door shattered and three video slot machines damaged, police said.
Oak Forest
FALSE THREAT: Police say there is no evidence Oak Forest High School staff or students were ever in danger Sept. 22 morning from a false phone threat that prompted a systematic clearance of the school. The threat claiming the presence of a shooter with an explosive device has been turned over to the FBI for investigation, police said.
Oak Lawn
RESIDENTIAL BURGLARY: Money and jewelry were taken from a residence in the 11000 block of Kostner Avenue, according to a police report released Sept. 21. The resident reported May 9 scaring away a night time intruder and then discovering the valuables were missing, police said.
SLOTS BURGLARY: Three sledgehammer-wielding masked males took two cash boxes from Stella’s Place, 8759 Ridgeland Ave., after smashing front and back glass doors and damaging five of the six video slot machines, according to a report released Sept. 25 after multiple Freedom of Information Act requests. The early July 14 burglary came less than two months after a May 6 break-in, according to police reports.
OCCULT EXTORTION: A resident lost nearly $4,150 more after paying an occult website $300 on Aug. 24 to cast a spell on her boyfriend, police said. The resident told an officer Aug. 29 that she paid the additional money to a caller via Western Union to prevent him from informing the boyfriend she was casting a spell on him, police said.
Orland Park
DUI CRASH: Paul A. Dina, 63, 7100 block of 115th Street, Worth, was arrested Aug. 12 and subsequently charged with drunken driving, failing to reduce speed to avoid a collision, following too closely, improper lane use and failing to produce proof of insurance during a two-vehicle crash investigation in the 16000 block of LaGrange Road, police said.

CARJACKING ATTEMPT: Jordan A. Watson, 22, 9700 block of Crescent Circle Park, Orland Park, was arrested Aug. 17 and subsequently charged with two counts of attempted vehicular hijacking and two counts of aggravated assault after stopping and attempting to enter two occupied vehicles at 143rd Street and Ravinia Avenue while holding a fixed blade knife, police said.
Palos Heights
DUI FLEEING: Jamelah Lewis, 22, Chicago, was arrested Sept. 22 at 111th Street and Harlem Avenue and subsequently charged with fleeing/eluding, drunken driving, speeding, illegally transporting alcohol and failing to provide proof of insurance, police said.
Park Forest
PUBLIC INDECENCY: Immanuel J. Miles, 41, 100 block of Blackhawk Drive, Park Forest, was arrested Sept. 13 in that block and accused of speaking indecently Sept. 11 to a young female student waiting alone for a bus near the Michelle Obama School of Technology and the Arts, police said. Miles is a registered sex offender convicted in Cook County of two counts of public indecency/lewd exposure to a 10 year old when he was 38 and one count of public indecency/lewd exposure to a 15 year old when he was 38, according to the Illinois sex offender registry.
Sauk Village
GUNS, DRUGS: Two brothers are charged with multiple felonies following a Sept. 11 warrant-based search of their home in the 1900 block of 218th Place by the Cook County sheriff’s police organized crime division and police hostage barricade team with the FBI Chicago field office’s south resident agency violent crime and gang task force, sheriff’s police said. Carlos Burnett, 34, is charged with armed violence, possession of a firearm by a repeat felony offender, felon in possession of a firearm, manufacture/delivery of cocaine, manufacture/delivery of ecstasy, possession of cocaine, and possession of a controlled substance and Cevion Burnett, 21, is charged with possession of a firearm by a repeat felony offender and felon in possession of a weapon, sheriff’s police said.
Steger
SLOTS ROBBERY: Three sledgehammer-wielding members of a five-person crew removed cash from video slot machines inside the Shell gas station, 500 W. Steger Road, at about 2:50 a.m. Sept. 15 while a fourth member stood at the front doors holding something at his side and a fifth waited in a running vehicle, police said.
Tinley Park
SCHOOL THREAT: A local teen was arrested Sept. 23 and transferred to the Cook County Juvenile Detention Center on a charge of felony disorderly conduct after posting a shooting threat involving Central Middle School on social media earlier that day, police said. Additional officers were assigned to the school Thursday morning as a precautionary measure, police said.
