Niko Fuentes, 33, was fatally shot in the back Monday morning in Bridgeview, according to the Cook County medical examiner’s office.
Fuentes was shot around 6 to 6:30 a.m. Monday, apparently while walking down the 7800 block of South Oketo Avenue, a spokesperson for the Bridgeview Police Department said.
Bridgeview police received a call of a person “down on the ground” at the location, and found Fuentes with a gunshot wound to his torso, the spokesperson said.
His cause of death was listed as a gunshot wound to the back.
The South Suburban Major Crimes Task Force is investigating, the police spokesperson said.
