Dolton officials have placed a police officer on administrative leave as they investigate alleged misconduct recorded on video and posted to social media.
The village did not name the officer in a statement issued Sunday but said it is aware of “a video circulating on social media involving a member of the Dolton Police Department and an incident that occurred” that morning.
The video appears to show a dispute between a person and police officer on residential property, with shots ringing out as the officer approached.
“Because this is an active personnel matter and investigation, the village will provide additional details at the appropriate time,” Dolton officials said in the statement.
