Hedging their bets. Candidates running for multiple offices are receiving lots of criticism this cycle, with two prime-time candidates — Secretary of State Alexi Giannoulias and U.S. Rep. Mike Quigley — running for reelection to their current offices while also running to become the next mayor of Chicago.
Second chances and influencers. A former CPS CEO is coming to the defense of a leading Board of Education president candidate who is receiving negative attention for her 2018 firing from CPS, and the Chicago Teachers Union acknowledges that it’s paying social media influencers to spread the gospel according to CTU.
Clancy copycat? In truly horrific news, a Frankfort mom is accused of killing her 2-year-old son after allegedly following the trial of Lindsay Clancy with great interest.
