Oak Park police and fire departments responded Wednesday morning to the intersection of North Boulevard and Euclid Avenue after a report of a pedestrian being struck by a concrete truck just before 9 a.m.

The pedestrian was identified as Ann Marie LoPrieno, a 71-year-old resident of the 400 block of S. Oak Park Avenue, according to Dan Yopchick, Oak Park’s chief communication officer.

She was crossing the street at North Boulevard and Euclid Avenue in Oak Park when she was hit, according to Yopchick.

She was transported to Loyola University Medical Center in critical condition by Oak Park firefighters and paramedics and was later pronounced dead at 9:17 a.m. Yopchick said.

The truck was operated by a concrete supplier working on the ongoing streetscape project along Oak Park Avenue and was traveling from the job site when the crash occurred. The driver stayed at the scene and is cooperating with investigators according to Yopchick.

Euclid Avenue was closed between Lake Street and South Boulevard during the premliminary investigation for about five hours following the crash, but reopened shortly after 2 p.m. Wednesday.

The Oak Park police department is investigating the crash.
