CARPENTERSVILLE POLICE DEPARTMENT IN TEMPORARY DIGS
The Carpentersville Police Department is now officially operating from its new temporary location at 250 Carpenter Blvd.
“Our location may have changed, but our commitment to serving the Carpentersville community hasn’t,” read a post announcing the move.
The department is the first to move out of Carpentersville Village Hall as part of a $38 million renovation and expansion project that will be completed in early 2028.
Last week the East Dundee Village Board approved an intergovernmental agreement with Carpentersville for its police department to process and hold people who are placed under arrest.
Under the agreement, Carpentersville is responsible for supervising detainees, medical care, medical transportation and other expenses but won’t be charged for using the East Dundee jail.
Village offices are expected to move next month. The finance and utility building, building and permits, code compliance, and business development will be located temporarily at Carpentersville’s Public Works facility, 1075 Tamarac Drive.
