GARY MAN PLEADS GUILTY TO COCAINE DEALING
A Gary man pleaded guilty in documents filed Friday to cocaine dealing.
Delantrice Gregory, 40, admitted to two counts of dealing in cocaine, both Level 5 felonies. If a judge accepts the plea, he could face 2-12 years in prison.
A sentencing hearing is scheduled for Oct. 15.
According to the plea deal, Gregory admitted he dealt cocaine twice to criminal informants in April 2023 and March 2026.
MICHIGAN CITY MAN’S GARY MURDER CONVICTION UPHELD
The Indiana Court of Appeals upheld a Michigan City man’s conviction for fatally beating his roommate with a sledgehammer in Gary.
Jeremy Worley, 50, was sentenced to 64 years for murder and an agreed 6-year term for a habitual offender enhancement. A jury convicted him for the Feb. 4 or Feb. 5, 2024, death of Deon Perry, 60, of Gary.
In a 3-0 decision, Appeals Judge Stephen Scheele wrote there was enough evidence for his conviction.
Worley can appeal to the Indiana Supreme Court. His earliest release date is in November 2076.
