
EARLY WILL COUNTY ELECTION VOTING BEGINS NEXT WEEK
Early voting for the Nov. 3 general election in Will County starts Thursday, Sept. 24, Clerk Annette Parker said.
Voters can cast their ballots from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. weekdays through Friday, Oct. 23, at the Will County Clerk’s Office, 302 N. Chicago St., Joliet.
Voting hours will be expanded at the clerk’s office to include weekends and early evenings beginning Saturday, Oct. 24.
Early voting locations, including Naperville’s 95th Street Library and the Naperville Municipal Center, will open Monday, Oct. 19.
Some voting hours have been adjusted to better accommodate the availability and needs of the individual locations, the county said. For a list of early voting locations and hours, go to www.willcountyclerk.gov.

POLICE AND FIRE HOLDING SEPT. 26 PUBLIC OPEN HOUSE
The annual Public Safety Open House will take place from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 26, at Naperville’s Public Safety Campus, 1380 Aurora Ave.
A free family-friendly event, the open house features giveaways and demonstrations by Naperville’s public safety teams, a news release said.
The fire department will conduct hazardous materials and flashover fire demonstrations and police plan to do a mock traffic stop and drunken driving arrest and demos of the K-9 Unit and drone and taser usage, the release said.
Guests can check out police and fire equipment and vehicles, talk with safety personnel, dust for fingerprints with a crime scene detective and learn from telecommunicators on the best way to call 911. Several food trucks will be onsite.

NAPERVILLE LWV’S CANDIDATE FORUMS SET FOR THIS MONTH
The League of Women Voters of Naperville has announced two upcoming forums for area candidates seeking office Nov. 3.
An online forum will be held at 8 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 29, for candidates running for the state Senate seat in District 21, which includes parts of Naperville.
Candidates Julie Berkowicz and Laura Ellman plan to attend, a news release said.
An online forum will take place at 7 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 30, for Will County clerk candidates Annette Parker and Michelle Stiff.
Unlike a debate, this events will have a neutral trained moderator to present questions to candidates for their live responses. The forums are free, but guests must register in advance. A registration link is available at lwvnaperville.org.
