
EAST DUNDEE COMMUNITY SELFIE BEING TAKEN SUNDAY
East Dundee will take its second community selfie at noon Sunday, Sept. 20, outside The Depot, 319 N. River St.
The village will use a drone to take the photo, according to a social media post. Residents are welcome to bring family, friends and neighbors to pose for the picture.
In September 2025, about 100 people showed up to be included in the village’s first selfie, with a photo from the session hanging inside The Depot.

WEST DUNDEE HERITAGE FEST PLANNED FOR THIS WEEKEND
West Dundee will host Heritage Fest on Friday through Sunday, Sept. 19-21, at various locations throughout downtown.
Things get underway with free live music, food and beverages from 6 to 11 p.m. Friday in the downtown parking lot north of Main Street.
Saturday starts with the Dundee Township Lions Club 5K Run and 1.75-mile walk from 8 to 9 a.m. followed by live music and vendors from 10 a.m. to 11 p.m. A business and nonprofit expo and a craft fair along the village riverwalk will run from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. and a car show is set for 10:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. along South Second Street.
Sunday will feature a Lions Club pancake breakfast from 8 to 10:30 a.m. in the downtown lot. Music will presented from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. The expo, craft show, and food and drink vending will run from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., and the car show will take place from 10:30 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Children’s activities will be available from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. Saturday and 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday near the downtown parking lot.

ROTARY CLUB/FRIENDS OF FOX RIVER HOLDING RIVER CLEANUP
The public is invited to help the Rotary Club of Carpentersville and the Friends of the Fox River with a river cleanup from 8 to 10 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 19.
Volunteers will gather at the north parking lot of Otto Engineering, 2 E. Main St., Carpentersville. Students and others can earn community service hours by taking part in this event, according to a social media post.
Participants should wear long pants and sturdy, closed-toe shoes or boots that can get muddy and be prepared for walking and bending over to pick up litter.

‘AS YOU LIKE IT’ BEING STAGED AT ELGIN COMMUNITY COLLEGE
Goodly Creatures Theatre will present a benefit performance Saturday of William Shakespeare’s comedy “As You Like It” at Elgin Community College.
A pre-show reception will be held at 6 p.m. at the Spartan Terrace followed by the play at 7:30 p.m. in Second Space Saturday, Sept. 19, on the ECC campus.
The reception will include a complimentary first drink, appetizers and a chance to meet the cast, according to the ECC website. The event honors the late Terry Domschke, a drama teacher who helped found Janus Theatre and was a fixture in the local theater community.
