2. Wauconda 4-0 (2): Luke Sickmeir becomes the Bulldogs’ all-time leader in receiving yards after making six catches for 136 yards and two TDs in a win over North Chicago.

3. Zion-Benton 4-0 (4): Marquan Gordon and Kevin James connect for two TDs to complement Jamere French’s 297 rushing yards and four TDs in the Zee-Bees’ first win over Stevenson since 1995.

4. Grayslake North 4-0 (6): Beckett Dovel and Jay Kelly each rushes for more than 100 yards in the Knights’ win over Round Lake.

5. Libertyville 2-2 (7): The Wildcats’ passing game hums in a win over Lake Forest as Charlie Paden makes a TD catch and Lukas Melton contributes multiple first-down grabs.

6. Lake Zurich 2-2 (8): Benji Ferguson and Joey Wessman each accounts for two TDs in the Bears’ win over Waukegan.

7. Carmel 2-2 (3): Jameer Miles makes eight tackles and breaks up a pass in the Corsairs’ loss to Providence, which remains unbeaten but fires its coach.

8. Mundelein 3-1 (5): Dylan Leipold records 12 tackles while Maddox Solum and Kolton Sydanmaa each adds 10 in the Mustangs’ loss to Warren.

9. Deerfield 3-1 (9): Mycol Cochran and Grant Wilson combine for five TDs and 212 of the Warriors’ 250 rushing yards in a win over Maine West.

10. Highland Park 2-2 (NR): Benjamin Marcus makes an interception and Max Wittenberg makes two tackles for loss with a sack in the Giants’ win over Maine East.

Senior tight end Brock Williams, a Texas recruit, returns the opening kickoff for a touchdown and then makes two TD catches during Libertyville’s 40-26 North Suburban Conference win over Lake Forest.

Defensive player of the week

Sophomore defensive end Colton Zak makes four tackles with two sacks and recovers a fumble during Wauconda’s 49-8 Northern Lake County Conference win over North Chicago.
