
WILL COUNTY STATE’S ATTORNEY RECEIVES LAW SCHOOL AWARD
Will County State’s Attorney James Glasgow has been honored with the 2026 Distinguished Service Award from Northern Illinois University College of Law for more than four decades of public service.
Eight alumni and friends of the law school were recognized at a reception Sept. 2. Award recipients were selected for outstanding professional achievements, demonstrated service to NIU College of Law or their communities, and a commitment to the highest standards of professional integrity, a news release said.
Glasgow was first elected as Will County state’s attorney in 1992 and is the longest-serving elected state’s attorney in Illinois. He was reelected for his eighth term in 2024.
As state’s attorney, he established the Will County Children’s Advocacy Center, Domestic Violence Court, Animal Protection Unit and High Technology Crimes Unit. Glasgow authored the state’s Animal Torture Statute, and has provided more than 30 specially-trained K9 dogs to law enforcement agencies, the release said.
Glasgow earned his bachelor’s degree from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign and his law degree from Northern Illinois University College of Law.

CONSERVATION FOUNDATION HOSTS SUNSET SUPPER FUNDRAISER
Tickets are on sale now for The Conservation Foundation’s fundraiser, Sunset Supper, planned for 6 to 9 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 1, at the 60-acre historic McDonald Farm, 10S404 Knoch Knolls Road, Naperville.
Tickets are $125 per person and limited to 250 guests. Prices increase to $150 starting Sept. 14.
The evening features farm-to-table cuisine, including organic vegetables grown at McDonald Farm, a news release said. There also will be live bluegrass music by the Downhillers, beer and wine, and artists creating nature-inspired art on-site.
Proceeds support the foundation’s mission to improve the health of local communities by preserving open space and natural lands, protecting rivers and watersheds, and promoting stewardship of the environment throughout northeastern Illinois. Its work focuses on DuPage, Kane, Kendall and Will counties.
Registration for the fundraiser closes on Thursday, Sept. 24.

NAPERVILLE SUNRISE ROTARY OPENS ITS GRANT APPLICATIONS
The Rotary Club of Naperville Sunrise is accepting grant applications from organizations that provide programs and services for Naperville children and families, teens and young adults.
Applications must be received by 5 p.m. Friday, Oct. 23, for consideration, a news release said.
Grants do not fund cover general operating or capital requests, the release said. Funding requests will be reviewed according to several criteria, including how the award can make a contribution towards improving the quality of life of children, teens and young adults, the club said.
