1. Oswego 3-0 (1): Ammar Banire reels off touchdown runs of 63 and 5 yards and Graham Schwab scores on a 41-yard run as Panthers power past Plainfield North 34-14.

2. Geneva 2-1 (3): Eastern Michigan commit Ben Peterson triggers fireworks in the Vikings’ 49-17 rout of St. Charles North, completing 18 of 21 passes for 341 yards and five TDs.

3. Batavia 2-1 (4): Michael Vander Luitgaren bounces back from a three-interception game, running for three TDs and throwing for three in leading the Bulldogs past Glenbard North 49-21.

4. Kaneland 3-0 (5): Timmy Boryc leads Knights’ comeback from a 20-14 halftime deficit, finishes with nine carries for 159 yards, including a 55-yard TD run in a 42-20 win over DeKalb.

5. Jacobs 3-0 (6): Austin Stennett fires TD passes to Henry Shower and Jack Coates as Golden Eagles earn 35-20 win over Prairie Ridge in a lightning-delayed game that was finished Saturday.

6. St. Charles North 2-1 (2): Tommy Vendl runs for 129 yards on nine carries, including a 71-yard TD, but the North Stars couldn’t find a way to ground Geneva’s aerial attack in 49-17 loss.

7. Aurora Christian 3-0 (8): Jalen Callaway continues to come up with big-play scores for the Eagles, posting TD runs of 70, 75 and 28 yards in a 53-0 rout of St. Edward.

8. Burlington Central 2-1 (7): In game delayed 90 minutes by lightning, Reece Beemer passes for 127 yards in 32-20 loss to Cary-Grove. Wagner Viebrock catches six passes for 101 yards.

9. Yorkville 2-1 (9): Mason Keith and Will Freeman grab interceptions and James Sapp recovers a fumble for the Foxes, but Bolingbrook wins 20-7 in Southwest Prairie West opener.

10. Marmion 2-1 (NR): Colin McEniry comes through with a 2-yard TD run and throws a 19-yard TD pass to Ryan Loria to lead Cadets to a 25-6 victory over De La Salle.

Offensive Player of the Week

Senior running back/linebacker Nelson Wendell runs for 95 yards and two TDs and sets up another score with an interception to spark Geneva in 49-17 win over St. Charles North.

Defensive Player of the Week

Josiah Griffin, a senior defensive back, intercepts a pass with 90 seconds left and returns it 45 yards for the deciding TD as Waubonsie Valley earns its first win of season with a 28-21 victory over Palatine.
