Oakton College recognizes Maine Township Supervisor

Maine Township Supervisor Kimberly Jones has been named one of Oakton College’s 2026 Distinguished Alumni, an honor reserved for graduates whose achievements, leadership and service have left a lasting mark on their professions and their communities.

Jones will be recognized alongside three fellow honorees at Oakton’s 2026 Distinguished Alumni Awards Ceremony on Sept. 10, according to a news release.

The Distinguished Alumni Awards celebrate Oakton graduates who exemplify the College’s values through professional excellence, community service, and overall achievement, the release said. Honorees are selected for leadership and integrity in their careers, meaningful contributions to their communities, and their impact as role models. Nominations come from the public and are reviewed by the college.

“Community Colleges like Oakton are so valuable to our communities because they provide educational opportunities where they may not otherwise exist, said Maine Township Supervisor Kimberly Jones. “I’m grateful to be recognized, but the truth is that public service is never a solo effort. This award belongs just as much to the staff, volunteers and neighbors who show up for Maine Township every day,” Jones said.
