Veteran anchor Norah O’Donnell is returning to “CBS Mornings” where she’ll join forces with Gayle King once more.

The pair worked together for seven years before O’Donnell, 52, moved to “CBS Evening News” in 2019. They’ll join Nate Burleson when the new lineup broadcasts together on Tuesday.

“CBS Mornings” producer Jon Tower celebrated the network’s move to reunite King and O’Donnell on the morning desk.

“They have a friendship and chemistry that extends beyond the studio,” he said in a memo reportedly shared with CBS staffers.

He added that keeping Burleson in the mix should make for a strong morning news team.

CBS said in July that O’Donnell was also being added to the network’s storied “60 Minutes” staff, which has undergone considerable changes since polarizing Free Press founder Bari Weiss was made the news division’s editor-in-chief in October.

Weiss was put in charge after the FCC approved Skydance’s $8 billion acquisition of Paramount Global and its subsidiaries in July 2025. The deal went through a short time later.

O’Donnell’s resume includes covering eight presidential elections. She’s interviewed every living U.S. president. O’Donnell and King were part of a team that won a 2019 Emmy Award for Outstanding Morning Program.

The Washington, D.C. native reposted “CBS Mornings’” message on social media confirming “Norah O’Donnell is Coming Home!” after the network announced her return to the early shift.
