As high temperatures and humidity continue to blanket Illinois, a heat advisory is in effect from noon Wednesday until 9 p.m., weather officials said.
Heat index values of 100 to 105 degrees are expected in northern and central Cook County, as well as DuPage, DeKalb, Lake, Kane, Boone, Ogle, Winnebago, McHenry and Lee counties, officials said.
The high temperatures and high humidity may subject people to heat illnesses, officials warned. Everyone is asked to take precautions when outside or consider altering plans for safety during the dangerous conditions.

Officials suggest wearing lightweight and loose clothing, and limiting strenuous activities to early morning or in the evening.
Current morning conditions at Midway Airport are mostly cloudy at 86 degrees. Farther north at O’Hare International Airport, conditions are the same, officials said.
On Wednesday night, there is a 30% chance of thunderstorms as temperatures are expected to lower to the mid 70s, officials said. On Thursday, there is a 40% chance of storms, which is expected to increase overnight when temperatures in the high 80s are expected.
On Friday, temperatures in the low 80s are expected with a 50% chance of thunderstorms into the night when temperatures are expected to lower to the low 70s, officials said.
