Oswego regains top spot ahead of St. Charles North and Geneva, while Oswego East joins rankings.

1. Oswego 2-0 (2): Drew Kleinhans passes for 271 yards and Ammar Banire runs for 144 yards. They also combine for six touchdowns as the Panthers squeak past Geneva 44-42.

2. St. Charles North 2-0 (3): Dashel Von Qualen powers the North Stars in 56-21 win over South Elgin. The sophomore quarterback ran for 96 yards while throwing for 153 yards and three TDs.

3. Geneva 1-1 (4): Bennett Konkey catches 10 passes for 223 yards and four TDs and also throws 2-point conversion pass in a see-saw loss for Vikings.

4. Batavia 1-1 (1): Charlie Rosengren runs for 90 yards against Rochester, but four turnovers prove costly to the Bulldogs during a 44-16 setback in battle between two powerhouses.

5. Kaneland 2-0 (6): Jackson Little unleashes TD run in second quarter for the difference as the Knights build up a 17-0 lead and then hold off Lemont for a 17-10 decision.

6. Jacobs 2-0 (5): Cloud of dust? Run-happy Golden Eagles take to air behind 206 yards passing and an 8-yard TD from Austin Stennett to Chris Williams in holding off Hampshire 21-14.

7. Burlington Central 2-0 (7): Parker Auxier runs for 102 yards and TDs of 4, 5 and 25 yards as the Rockets pound out 41-7 victory over Crystal Lake South.

8. Aurora Christian 2-0 (8): Jalen Callaway produces 262 all-purpose yards and scores five TDs, including one on an interception return, as the Eagles east past Elgin 49-0.

9. Yorkville 2-0 (9): Joel Castillo catches four passes for 96 yards and Gavin Geegan runs 13 times for 92 yards and three TDs as the Foxes roll past Joliet West 37-6.

10. Oswego East 2-0 (NR): Obadiah Carlson runs for 79 yards and two TDs and Carter Meindel passes for 87 yards to help the Wolves hold on to beat Willowbrook 22-14.

Offensive Player Of The Week

Eastern Michigan recruit Ben Peterson completes 19 of 28 passes for 445 yards and five TDs for Geneva in a back-and-forth 44-42 loss to Oswego.

Defensive Player of the Week

Junior defensive back Jayden Andrews seals Oswego East’s 22-14 win over Willowbrook on a fourth-down interception with no time remaining. He also combines on tackle for a safety earlier in the game.
