
WONDERFUL WORLD OF WHEELS AT COMMISSIONER’S PARK
The annual Wonderful World of Wheels will be held from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Monday, Sept. 14, at Commissioner’s Park, 3704 111th St.
Presented by the Naperville Park District, the free event is a chance for children and their families to see and touch various community vehicles, including police cars, fire trucks, park maintenance tractors and others, a news release said.
Wonderful World of Wheels is geared for young and preschool-aged children ages 1 to 5. Community workers who drive the vehicles will also be on hand.

CLIMATE STEWARDS PROGRAM OFFERED IN NAPERVILLE
The University of Illinois Extension is offering a four-week interactive Climate Stewards training program in Naperville this fall.
Open to community members, the program provides the tools needed to communicate effectively about climate change and motivate others, a news release said.
Training sessions will be held from 3 to 6 p.m. Wednesdays from Oct. 14 to Nov. 4 and are available at five University of Illinois Extension offices, including the DuPage County Extension Office, 1100 E. Warrenville Road, Suite 170, Naperville.
Sessions include conversations with local leaders, real world scenarios and a field trip to the DuPage Wildlife Conservation Center to see climate solutions in action, the release said.
After the program, Climate Stewards are encouraged to participate in community science projects, land and water stewardship, and civic engagement.
Those interested should sign up by Sept. 30 at go.illinois.edu/climatestewards. The fee is $80 per person, but anyone interested in helping others take the course can pay a suggested fee of $120.
FEDERAL DISASTER LOANS AVAILABLE FOR JULY 27 STORMS
The U.S. Small Business Administration’s disaster declaration following severe storms and tornadoes on July 27 will allow for homeowners, renters, businesses and nonprofit organizations to apply for low interest loans.
The disaster declaration covers DuPage and Will counties as well as other Illinois counties and Lake County, Indiana.
Loans are available to help cover losses not fully covered by insurance, a news release said. Disaster loan programs available include the Business Physical Disaster Loans, Economic Injury Disaster Loans and Home Disaster Loans.
Applications are available online through the Small Business Administration’s Disaster Loan Assistance website, www.sba.gov/disaster, or in person through Sept. 8 at the Hazel Crest Village Hall or University Park Town Center.
Applications for physical property damage are due Oct. 19 and economic injury applications are due May 18, 2027, the release said.
