
KIDSMATTER VOLUNTEER FAIR SET FOR SEPT. 3
KidsMatter will hold its 23rd annual volunteer fair from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 3, at Fort Hill Activity Center, 20 Fort Hill Drive.
The fair is an easy way for children, families, adults and seniors to find volunteer opportunities that align with their interests and schedules, a news release said.
More than 25 local organizations looking for volunteers will have booths set up at the event, the release said. The organizations work in areas of education, environmental sustainability, disability services, food and nutrition needs, health, history, housing, literacy, senior services and youth support.
No registration is needed to attend the free fair.

ASIAN PERFORMING ARTS COMING TO SETTLEMENT
Mandala South Asian Performing Arts will bring the traditions of South Asia to Naperville with its show, “Nature and Narratives,” being presented at 4 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 20, at Naper Settlement, 523 S. Webster St.
The immersive production features artists from India, China, Indonesia, Thailand and Japan, a news release said.
“Nature and Narratives” is inspired by the human connection to earth and nature and will feature rare traditional instruments, dance and storytelling, the release said.

Artists scheduled to perform include Chethan Anant, an Indian classical musician and vocalist; Pak Ngurah, a Balinese dancer and percussionist; Chamni Sripraram, a South Asian percussionist; and Tzu-Tsen Wu, a plucked-string multi-instrumentalist who plays in a variety of styles.
The musicians will be joined by solo dancer Raji Venkat, who recently joined Mandala Arts as an associate artistic director, the release said.
Artist Marvin Veloso will display his piece, “Tapestries Toward the Future,” which is also scheduled to appear in the Naper Boulevard Library from March to May 2027.

WILL COUNTY VOTE BY MAIL APPLICATIONS AVAILABLE
Applications for vote-by-mail ballots for eligible Will County voters are now available online, by mail or in person at the Will County Clerk’s office, Will County Clerk Annette Parker said.
The deadline for the clerk’s office to receive an application submitted by mail or electronically is Thursday, Oct. 29, for the Nov. 3 general election. The clerk’s office is located at 302 N. Chicago St., Joliet, 60432.
Voters who are already enrolled in the permanent vote-by-mail program should review their information to ensure their ballot is mailed to the correct address, the clerk’s office said. Voters can call the clerk’s office at 815-740-4615 if their mailing address needs to be updated.
The clerk’s office will begin mailing the ballots on Thursday, Sept. 24.
