An Aurora man accused of killing a female bicyclist in Hampshire with his pickup truck and then fleeing the scene has been charged with felony failure to report a crash resulting in a death, officials said.

Marcos Moreno, 61, of the 700 block of Front Street, also faces charges of leaving the scene of a crash resulting in a death and obstructing justice, both felonies, in connection with the July 6 death of 27-year-old Ebony Cavillo, of Hampshire, according to a Kane County state’s attorney’s office news release.

The incident occurred about 12:40 a.m. on Route 20, between Big Timber and Gast roads. Calvillo was pronounced dead at the scene, the release said.

Moreno allegedly struck the woman with his 1994 Chevy pickup and did not stop or report the accident to police, according to an investigation conducted by the Hampshire police. It’s alleged Moreno “concealed the damaged truck by temporarily storing it in a parking lot and having it towed to his house,” the release said.
