A Gary teen has been indicted for allegedly sending “inappropriate” messages to at least three suspected minors online, records show.
Charleston Fallon, 19, was indicted in the U.S. District Court in Hammond for Transmission of Threats in Interstate or Foreign Commerce, Coercion and Enticement of a Minor, and Attempted Sexual Exploitation of Children, records show.
He was arrested Monday in Crown Point, filings show.
His lawyer Visvaldis Kupsis was not immediately available for comment.
FBI Special Agent Taylor Pletz, an agent since 2024, wrote in a lengthy affidavit that agents were initially targeting Fallon’s brother in their investigation, court records show.
However, the brother’s phone turned up nothing during an April search warrant. He told police he has “never been on Discord,” the affidavit states.
The investigation shifted to Fallon partly after speaking with his relatives, records show.
Authorities appeared to link multiple online chat names to Fallon’s email address, charges show.
In one example, in a November 2024 Discord chat, federal prosecutors allege he messaged an underage girl, who wrote she was 13, to “either cut or nudes,” documents show.
During the conversation, he allegedly threatened to “SWAT her,” Pletz wrote.
He also referenced an interest in “764,” telling her it was “a satanic cult.”
An alert issued by the FBI in 2025 identified 764 and similar networks as preying on teens by using “threats, blackmail, and manipulation to coerce or extort victims into producing, sharing, or live-streaming acts of self-harm, animal cruelty, sexually explicit acts, and/or suicide. The footage is then circulated among members of the network to continue to extort victims and exert control over them.”
For a second person — identified as minor victim 2 — Fallon allegedly sent a “black and white video” appearing to show the “stabbing of the turkey,” according to the affidavit.
The third victim, who said she was 16, told investigators that Fallon allegedly asked both her and an “unidentified” friend on the chat for explicit pictures at various points, records allege.
During a police interview, an agent asked Fallon if he sent “indecent” photos to her and a friend on that chat.
“Probably,” Fallon said, according to court records.
Fallon’s relative told authorities that she “noticed a change” in his mental health as a kid, records state. She saw “content pertaining to death” on his phone, messaged people on Discord “who were cutting themselves,” documents show.
In one instance, she saw a “young girl” on his phone who “had cut herself,” the indictment states. The relative told Fallon “not to encourage people to harm themselves,” and to “stay off” Discord, documents state, but knew he had “many different pages,” including ones on Telegram.
The brother was never involved, she added.
She told police that Fallon drew “words” and “symbols” on the back of the neighbor’s home, records show. The relative said Fallon “posed as other people online,” including her and his brother.
After “behavioral issues,” the relative sent Fallon to “Job Corps,” then a “military academy,” records state. He lived with a mentor from the military academy for a time, before returning to Northwest Indiana in June.
Fallon told investigators that he was still on Discord in 2025, records state, and he decided to get back into extortion after he got out of the military academy, launching new Discord and Telegram accounts.
