Six breweries in St. Charles will be having a month-long Belgian beer competition in August to shine a light on the rich Belgian history in St. Charles, according to a press release about the event.

The STC Six group is made up of six St. Charles Breweries: 93 Octane Brewery, Alter Brewing + Kitchen, Broken Brix Fermentation Emporium, Brother Chimp Brewing, Pollyanna Brewing & Distilling and Riverlands Brewing. This year, each brewery will be creating its own different style Belgian beer, with a month-long competition where individuals can vote for their favorite, the release said.

The breweries and the Belgian-style beer they will be crafting for the 2026 STC Six Belgian Brewery Competition are: 93 Octane Brewery – golden strong; Alter Brewing + Kitchen – dubbel; Broken Brix Fermentation Emporium and Brother Chimp Brewing collaboration beer – witbier; Pollyanna Brewing & Distilling, fruited Belgian strong ale; and Riverlands Brewing, saison.

Each of the five Belgian-style beers will be available at the respective breweries throughout the month of August, or while supplies last, the release said. One dollar from every sale of one of the Belgian-style beers and commemorative glassware will go towards the St. Charles History Museum to support its mission to collect, preserve and present St. Charles’ history.

Individuals can vote for their favorite Belgian beer by going to www.stcsix.com/belgianbeer throughout the month of August. The winning brewery will be announced at the end of Pollyanna Brewing & Distilling’s Blues and Brews Festival on Aug. 29, according to the release.

People can pick up an STC Six Passport at the St. Charles History Museum, St. Charles Municipal Building and the participating St. Charles breweries beginning Aug. 1. Those who visit all six breweries during the month of August and collect a stamp at each location will receive a limited-edition koozie, available for pickup at the St. Charles History Museum at 215 E. Main St., the release said.

“We are excited that this year’s STC Six is highlighting St. Charles’ rich Belgian history through a fun, engaging competition among these amazing breweries,” Brian McNally, president of the St. Charles History Museum, said in the release. “We are honored to be the recipient of this year’s event and encourage everyone to visit all the breweries, vote for their favorite and stop by the St. Charles History Museum to learn more about the Belgian history that plays an important part of our city’s heritage.”
