City officials have announced activities designed to celebrate National Night Out on Tuesday, Aug. 4, in Aurora.

National Night Out is a nationwide event that occurs annually on the first Tuesday in August. Across Aurora’s 10 wards, neighbors will gather in the community to strengthen relationships among residents, public safety officials and city leaders, according to a press release from the city of Aurora.

Various neighborhoods throughout the city will host events featuring live music and giveaways that are family-friendly and community-minded, city officials said.

The events are put on in collaboration with the city’s Community Engagement Division, which works with neighborhood leaders to create a schedule of programming, according to the release.

Events scheduled to celebrate National Night Out in Aurora on Aug. 4 include, in the 1st Ward, Aurora Carrillon Lions Club, 1223 Barkston Lane, 6 to 7:30 p.m.; Northeast Community Group, 1600 Church Road, 5 to 7 p.m.; and Pigeon Hill Neighbors, 825 Sheffer Road (Garfield Park), 5 to 7:30 p.m.

In the 2nd Ward, Aurora Regional Fire Museum, 53 N. Broadway, 5 to 7 p.m.; Lights of Sacred Heart, State Street between Kane Street and Fulton Street, 5 to 8 p.m.; and We Are United RESTORED, Root Street between New York Street and Spring Street, 5 to 8 p.m. In the 3rd Ward, Residents of Hometown, 1721 Town Center St., 5 to 7 p.m.

In the 4th Ward, Bardwell Residences, 301 Weston Ave., 4 to 6 p.m.; Blackhawk Park Neighborhood, 1306 Winona Ave., 4:30 to 7 p.m.; Divine Providence Ministries, 402 Sherman Ave., 4 to 6 p.m.; New England Congregational Church, 230 Le Grande Blvd., 5 to 6:30 p.m.; Tomcat Neighbors, 1010 Lebanon St. (Lebanon Park), 5 to 7 p.m.; and West Park Neighbors, 729 W. Galena Blvd. (Greenman Elementary School), 5 to 7 p.m. In the 5th Ward, the Salvation Army, 550 Redwood Drive, 5 to 7 p.m.

In the 6th Ward, Gayles Memorial Baptist Church, 730 Gillette Ave., 5 to 7 p.m.; Northwest Territories, 938 Old Indian Trail, 5 to 7 p.m; and Randall West Homeowners Association,1373 Monomoy St., 5 to 7 p.m. In the 7th Ward, Main Baptist Church, 814 E. Galena Blvd., 5 to 7 p.m.; and TBOC, 1226 Grand Blvd., 4 to 7 p.m.

In the 8th Ward, Georgetown Neighborhood Group, 995 Long Grove Drive, 6 to 8 p.m. In the 9th Ward, Leading Nations, 2701 Spinnaker Drive (Wheatlands Park), 5 to 8 p.m. In the 10th Ward, Butterfield Park Neighbors, 2515 White Barn Road, 5:30 to 7:30 p.m.; Village Baptist Church, 515 S. Frontenac St., 6 to 8 p.m.; and Teen Impact, 4008 Fox Valley Center Drive, 5:30 to 7 p.m.
