An Oswego man has been sentenced to 10 years in prison in exchange for pleading guilty to disseminating child sexual abuse material, the Kane County State’s Attorney’s Office said on Thursday.
According to statements presented in court by Kane County Assistant State’s Attorney Matthew Rodgers, on Feb. 1, 2024, investigators with the Kane County State’s Attorney’s Office’s Child Exploitation Unit executed a search warrant at a business in Batavia where James R. Clark, 53, of Oswego, worked, a news release from the State’s Attorney’s Office said.
Investigators found child sexual abuse material on a laptop in Clark’s possession and determined that Clark had shared the material online, the release stated.
Now, Clark has agreed to a 10-year prison sentence in exchange for a guilty plea to the offense of child sexual abuse material, a Class X felony, the news release said.
