A man was shot and killed in the parking lot outside of the Amazon facility in Matteson Sunday night, according to a news release from the Matteson Police Department.
The victim was identified by the Cook County medical examiner’s office as Dylan Perkins, 26, of Glenwood.
Officers responded at 10:54 p.m. Sunday to a report of shots fired at the facility at Vollmer Road and Harlem Avenue, police said, and found a man who had suffered multiple gunshot wounds to his torso.
The suspected shooter was a food delivery driver who got into a disagreement that escalated into a physical altercation with Perkins, police said. During that altercation, the other person shot Perkins several times, police said.

Perkins was rushed to a hospital, where he was pronounced dead at 1 a.m. Monday, according to the medical examiner’s office. His cause of death was listed as multiple gunshot wounds.
Amazon public relations manager Jesus Garcia said Perkins was a “third party vendor employee working at our facility, not an Amazon associate.”
“We’re saddened by this senseless act of violence and are focused on supporting our employees and the victim’s family during this difficult time,” Garcia said in a statement.
Matteson Police Department detectives are investigating, police said, and are working with the South Suburban Major Crimes Task Force to identify the shooter.
Police asked for anyone with information relating to the investigation to contact the Police Department at its non-emergency line at 708-503-3130, or to submit tips through the village of Matteson’s website via Tip411.
