Oak Park Police Department responded to a call of a criminal sexual assault that occurred at approximately 12:24 p.m. Wednesday in the 1100 block of South Lyman Avenue.

According to a report from Oak Park officials, a female juvenile was approached by a man on a bicycle in an alley between 1100 Lyman and Taylor Avenue. Officials said the man grabbed the girl from behind and placed his hand up her shorts as she struggled.

The suspect is described as being in his 20s and of either Hispanic or Indian descent, and wearing a black shirt, colorful shorts and was on a gray-colored bicycle, officials said.

Police searched the area of the reported assault and were not able to find the suspect, the report stated. Oak Park Police Department detectives have been assigned to conduct a follow-up investigation and officers have increased patrols in the area since the incident occurred.
