Chicago police said two people were found shot, one fatally, inside a Washington Heights home on the city’s Far South Side.
Officers responding to a residence in the 9900 block of South Parnell Avenue just before 2 p.m. found a woman, 59, unresponsive with multiple gunshot wounds, along with a 55-year-old man with a gunshot wound to his head, according to police.
The woman was pronounced dead at the scene, while the man was transported to Advocate Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn, where he was initially listed in serious condition, police said.
The woman’s identity was not immediately released and the victims’ relationship wasn’t given, but police said a weapon was recovered from the scene.
Calumet Area detectives investigated.
