Clarendon Hills residents have until July 10 to contribute to an online survey that will be used by staff at the Clarendon Hills Public Library in planning programs.
A link to the survey may be found on the library’s homepage, www.clarendonhillslibrary.org/. The survey is brief, with five multiple choice questions and the opportunity to write comments.
“Survey responses will help staff identify opportunities to improve existing programming and explore ideas for new programs and services that better meet the community’s needs and interests,” said Library Director Lori Craft. She said survey results will be presented to the Library Board.
Craft said the library traditionally has conducted a comprehensive community survey every five years, which has been used to help guide strategic planning of library initiatives. The current survey is part of a different approach for this year.
“While 2026 would have been the next year for that larger survey, we felt it would be more beneficial this year to conduct a series of shorter, topic-focused surveys beginning with programming,” Craft said, adding that this approach allows library staff to gather more targeted feedback on specific services and interests throughout the year.”
“Though this year we will be doing a series of short, topic-focused surveys, the public can give us feedback about the library anytime through our suggestion box in the library (located near the newspapers) and through our website’s ‘Contact Us’ page,” she said.
She said survey questions were developed by reviewing surveys used by other libraries and identifying the types of feedback that would be most valuable to the library’s programming staff.
“It’s hard to predict the kind of survey response we might get, but we certainly hope to receive as many responses as possible in order to gather a broad range of community feedback and perspectives,” Craft said.
