
The Cook County Medical Examiner’s Officer has confirmed the identity of a man who was found dead by Cook County Sheriff’s Police on May 4, according to a Glenview Police Department news release.
Albert Lieberman, 88, who had gone missing from his Glenview home around April 24, was the man found deceased by Sheriff’s police on the 9400 block of Harrison in Des Plaines, per the news release. About 10 days elapsed from the date he was reported missing until his body was found.
Lieberman was described by police as having “cognitive impairment.” A Silver Alert was broadcast by Illinois State Police at the time Lieberman was reported missing.
Using video search, Glenview police were able to determine Lieberman left his home on April 23 about 9:45 p.m., according to police.
Police utilized daily searches with K-9 dogs to try and locate Lieberman. Video surveillance showed his last known location as near Golf Mill Shopping Center in Niles on April 24, where he was walking at 12:22 a.m.
Cook County Sheriff’s police later notified the Glenview Police Department on May 4 that they had found a deceased man matching Lieberman’s description, according to the Glenview Police Department.
Lieberman’s body was then transported to the Cook County Medical Examiner’s Office, and they confirmed his identity on May 14.

Cook County Sheriff’s Police are continuing their investigation into Lieberman’s death, per the news release.
Glenview police said they extend their condolences to Lieberman’s family and friends.
