An Indianapolis man implicated for drug dealing took off, then jumped out of his own van during an Interstate 65 arrest, charges state.

Kieth McCoy, 43, is charged with over 20 felonies, and five misdemeanors.

He is in custody, held without bail. It will be reset to $24,000 cash surety on May 22.

His next court hearing is May 13. His lawyer Lonnie Randolph II was not immediately available.

A Lake County Sheriff’s Deputy pulled McCoy over on May 5 near Lowell for going 93 mph in a 70-mph zone, according to the probable cause affidavit.

The officer smelled marijuana and saw a baggie of multicolored pills.

As McCoy tried to “stuff” it into the seat, two officers struggled to arrest him as he held onto the steering wheel, records state. Without warning, he took off, forcing them into the 1998 Chevrolet van.

McCoy got about a minute south, swerving in different lanes, before he opened the door and jumped out, charges state. A bodycam recorded the incident. An officer safely stopped the vehicle on the shoulder.

McCoy ran and got hit by a stun gun before he was arrested, court records state.

He allegedly took bags of pills and cocaine with him.

Cops recovered the cocaine bag, the affidavit states. They found marijuana, MDMA and seven cell phones in the vehicle.

McCoy has a 2015 cocaine dealing conviction in Lake County, records state.

He was charged May 6 in the highway incident with dealing in a schedule I controlled substance, two counts of dealing in cocaine, four counts of resisting law enforcement, two counts of battery by means of a deadly weapon, two counts of possession of cocaine, four counts of criminal confinement, four counts of kidnapping, one count of obstruction of justice, and  two counts of battery against a public safety official.

The misdemeanor counts are for resisting law enforcement, marijuana possession and reckless driving.
