A staff member at College of Lake County has been charged with grooming two students at Wauconda High School, police said Friday.
Wauconda police said Adam C. Faulkner, 42, has been charged with indecent solicitation of a child and solicitation of child sex abuse material, in addition to the grooming charge. Faulkner had been providing college and career services at Wauconda High School, authorities said.
He was placed on leave on April 16, when allegations of inappropriate contact were brought to the attention of police and school officials.
Police from Wauconda, Island Lake, and the Lake County Sheriff’s Office conducted a search warrant Thursday at Faulkner’s residence. During the search, police said they located evidence that led to the charges against Faulkner.
Faulkner was arrested on Thursday after a traffic stop for driving with a revoked license, just before police executed the search warrant.
“Crimes involving children are among the most serious we investigate,” Wauconda Chief David Wermes said. “We will pursue this case aggressively and work to ensure that anyone responsible is held fully accountable.”
Police urged parents and guardians to speak with their students about any potential interaction with Faulkner and to relay information to the Wauconda Police Department Investigations Division at (847) 865-0399.
