NEUQUA VALLEY HS TO PRESENT ‘MAMMA MIA!’

Neuqua Valley High School’s spring musical, “Mamma Mia!” will be performed at 7 p.m. Thursday through Saturday, April 23-25, at the school’s auditorium, 2360 95th St., Naperville.

Directed by Johnathan Pontarelli, the production features the music of ABBA in a story about a young woman’s search for her birth father on the eve of her wedding on a Greek island, a news release said.

Theater-goers are asked to enter door 7 of the school and to allow time due to traffic and construction at the school, the theater department’s website said.

Tickets are now on sale at nvhstheatre.com and cost $20 for adults and $10 for students.

GOLFAPALOOZA PLANNED FOR YOUNG GOLFERS

Naperville Park District will host its annual Junior Golfapalooza on Saturday, April 25, at Naperbrook Golf Course, 22204 W. 111th St.

The event is for new or experienced golfers ages 5 to 17 to practice swinging, chipping and putting with help from PGA professionals. Junior golfers can test out the latest in golf equipment, and complimentary hot dogs will be served.

“This event is the perfect way to introduce new golfers to the game and teach them about golf equipment and our youth instructional programs,” director of golf Kevin Carlson said in a news release. “It’s also a great opportunity for youth golfers to refine their skills.”

A parent or guardian must be present for the duration of the event. Participants should bring their own clubs if possible.

There are three time sessions available, starting at 10 a.m. Resident registration starts Saturday, April 18, while nonresidents can register starting Tuesday, April 21, at www.napervilleparks.org.

LIFEGUARD HIRING EVENT BEING HELD APRIL 25

A hiring event for Centennial Beach lifeguards will be held from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, April 25, at the Fort Hill Activity Center, 20 Fort Hill Drive.

Applicants can talk directly with the hiring managers and learn what qualifications are required to be a beach lifeguard. Candidates must be able to meet the position’s training, testing and certification requirements, a Naperville Park District news release said.

Centennial Beach is open from Memorial Day to Labor Day each year.

BRIDGING THE GAP EVENT SET FOR APRIL 25

The city of Naperville and North Central College are partnering for an afternoon on an event in which seniors will connect with college students.

“Connecting Across the Generations: Continuing the Conversation” will take place from 1 to 3 p.m. Saturday, April 25, at the Nichols Library, 200 W. Jefferson Ave.

The event fosters dialogue between generations to bring the community closer together, city officials said in a news release.

Participants will work in intergenerational pairs to play a musical form of Bingo featuring music from different eras. Participants will rotate partners to encourage conversations and give everyone a chance to share their stories and perspectives, the release said.
