
The Glenview Police Department responded to a reported incident of domestic battery in the 300 block of Glenview Road on April 14, per a news release from the department.
According to the news release, officers responded to the reported incident around 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday evening, when a vehicle that was traveling through Glenview stopped at a local residence, where the victim reportedly left the vehicle to seek help. Officials did not specify why the victim was seeking help or what sort of help the victim was seeking.
The suspect in question fled from the scene on foot and entered a nearby wooded area, the report said.
Glenview police subsequently conducted a search effort to locate the suspect with assistance from neighboring police departments, according to the news release. Rain, including some heavy showers, fell in the area throughout the evening and night.
Officers were unable to apprehend the suspect on Tuesday evening. First responders took the victim to Glenbrook Hospital for treatment.
Glenview Police Community Relations Sergeant Carly Gaba confirmed to the Pioneer Press that the suspect has since been identified by Glenview police, but is not in custody as of Wednesday afternoon.
Gaba said that the victim sustained only “minor injuries” and has since been released from the hospital.
The Glenview Police Detective Unit is continuing to investigate the incident, Gaba said.
Officers believe this to be a “targeted, isolated incident” and there is no active threat to the public.
