Lake Forest leaps in the rankings behind player of the week Callum Morrison as Mundelein returns.

2. Grayslake Central 8-1 (2): Beau Barrows earns his first varsity win by tossing four shutout innings against Northern Lake County Conference rival Grayslake North.

3. Stevenson 8-4 (3): Ben Merdalo and Brody Aaron each hit at least .600 in the Patriots’ two-game split with North Suburban Conference rival Libertyville.

4. Lakes 8-2-1 (5): Peter Ney goes 5-for-11 with a home run and six RBIs, while Hunter Bergdahl goes 5-for-8 with a triple and three RBIs, as the Eagles win four of five games.

5. Lake Forest 8-2 (9): During the Scouts’ four wins in as many games, Dylan Cran hits .444 with five RBIs, and Charlie Quick hits .429 with three doubles and four RBIs.

6. Lake Zurich 7-2 (6): Carson Hamblin goes 7-for-11 with four doubles, five RBIs and six runs scored as the Bears win three of four games.

7. Highland Park 7-3 (8): The Giants begin the week with momentum after lopsided wins against Waukegan and Carmel.

8. Wauconda 6-4 (4): Jackson Rudolph goes 9-for-12 with two three-hit performances and has hit safely in eight of the Bulldogs’ 10 games this season.

9. Mundelein 6-4 (NR): Dan Stricklin goes 7-for-12 as the Mustangs win all four of their games.

10. Warren 5-4 (7): Alex Kolcier strikes out six over five shutout innings in the Blue Devils’ win over Deerfield.

Senior pitcher Callum Morrison throws a no-hitter with 14 strikeouts in Lake Forest’s 6-0 North Suburban Conference win over Warren on April 6, improving to 2-0 with a 1.00 ERA and 28 strikeouts in 14 innings.
