Our picks for events in and around Chicago this weekend.

TWICE

The K-pop girl group returns to Chicago for the first time since headlining last summer’s Lollapalooza. TWICE has nine members — who will perform on a theater-in-the-round stage at United Center — but all eyes will be on three of them for at least part of the show. Jeongyeon, Jihyo and Chaeyoung recorded “Takedown” for the “K-Pop Demon Hunters” soundtrack. The group’s “Strategy” was also included. 8 p.m. April 6-7 at United Center, 1901 W. Madison St.; tickets from $50.15 at unitedcenter.com

Lily Allen

Rolling Stone deemed Lily Allen’s latest album, “West End Girl,” the “most brutal album” of 2025, calling it “a masterful portrayal of modern love and loss, and the damaging moments in between.” See the English singer-songwriter, now 40, perform it live this weekend at the Auditorium Theatre. 8 p.m. April 3-4 at the Auditorium Theatre, 50 E. Ida B. Wells Drive; tickets from $135.05 at auditoriumtheatre.org

Shane Gillis

Comedian Shane Gillis takes over the United Center for two nights, one of which is already sold out. Gillis is known for having been hired and fired within days by “Saturday Night Live” in 2019 (after footage came to light of him using an anti-Chinese slur) before hosting the show in 2024. He co-hosts “Matt and Shane’s Secret Podcast” with Matt McCusker. 8 p.m. April 3-4 at United Center, 1901 W. Madison St.; tickets from $38.35 at unitedcenter.com

Sammy Obeid

Or head to Wicker Park for Sammy Obeid instead. The Oakland-born Lebanese-Palestinian American former math teacher brings his “Wit Supremacy” to The Den Theatre this weekend. If you can score a ticket, you’re in for the sort of dark political humor that makes you feel better that people still think. 7 p.m. and 9:30 p.m. April 3, 6:30 p.m. and 9 p.m. April 4, 6:30 p.m. and 8:45 p.m. April 6 at The Den Theatre, 1331 N. Milwaukee Ave.; tickets from $31 (two-item minimum) at thedentheatre.com

Lil Rel Howery

Chicago native Lil Rel Howery performs a three-night stand at The Comedy Bar. You likely know him from “Get Out” or “The Carmichael Show.” But if you want a taste of his observational stand-up — which gets at what it’s like to live in Chicago — check out his 2025 special “Rel Talk.” 7 p.m. and 9:30 p.m. April 3, 7 p.m. and 9:15 p.m. April 4, 7 p.m. April 5 at The Comedy Bar, 162 E. Superior St.; tickets from $52.32 at eventbrite.com

The Last Dinner Party

This feminist English band rolls into Chicago following last fall’s sophomore release, “From the Pyre.” Four years ago, the band got buzz for opening for the Rolling Stones before they even had an album out. They’ve got a big, David Bowie-esque sound that should fill the Salt Shed nicely. 7:30 p.m. April 4 at the Salt Shed, 1357 N. Elston Ave.; tickets from $58.25 at saltshedchicago.com

Rusowsky

Last spring, Rusowsky released his debut solo album, “Daisy,” earning a Latin Grammy Award nomination. A classically trained pianist and producer who’s part of the Madrid-based avant-garde collective Rusia-IDK, Rusowsky is spinning up the dreamy dance party you need.  8 p.m. April 4 at Thalia Hall, 1807 S. Allport St.; tickets (ages 17+) at thaliahallchicago.com

Nessa Barrett

On the heels of the release of her EP, “Jesus Loves a Primadonna,” Nessa Barrett has sold out Thalia Hall. The 23-year-old social media star initially earned recognition for TikTok covers. Barrett has said she loves Lana Del Rey’s music — and it shows. 8 p.m. April 7 at Thalia Hall, 1807 S. Allport St.; tickets at thaliahallchicago.com

The Legends of Laughter

Sommore (“Soul Plane”), Lavell Crawford (“Breaking Bad”), Don “DC” Curry (“Next Friday”), and Earthquake (“Chappelle’s Home Team — Earthquake: Legendary”) come together for an evening of comedy at Arie Crown Theater. Expect a broad range of humor from a crew with decades of experience making people laugh. 8 p.m. April 4 at Arie Crown Theater, 2301 S. DuSable Lake Shore Drive; tickets from $78.15 at ariecrown.com

“Grelley Duvall Best Actress”

If you’re in need of a “very fun and delightfully camp night out,” according to a Tribune review, head to the Chopin Theatre for “Grelley Duvall Best Actress.” The show recreates “whacked-out moments” from 1980s and ’90s films, offering a tribute of sorts, “all in service of your amusement and the historical record.” Through April 12 at Chopin Theatre, 1543 W. Division St.; tickets from $35 at chopintheatre.com
