
Three people, including an 8-year-old girl, were injured Wednesday afternoon in a drive-by shooting on the city’s South Side, police said.
The victims were in the 3400 block of South King Drive in the Douglas neighborhood around 4:45 p.m., when a dark-colored SUV approached and at least one person inside opened fire, according to Chicago police.
The girl was shot in the foot and transported to Comer Children’s Hospital in good condition, police said. A 24-year-old man and a 28-year-old woman were also injured but expected to recover. The man was shot in his arm, chest and groin and transported to Stroger Hospital in good condition, while the woman was shot in her knee and transported to UChicago Medicine, where she was also initially reported in good condition.
Wentworth Area detectives were investigating.
