Police arrested a St. John, Indiana, woman Tuesday for allegedly killing her children’s father and his mother and step-father in Crete Township, Illinois, the prior day.
Jenna Strouble, 30, is expected to be charged in Illinois with nine counts of first-degree murder, according to a statement from the Will County Sheriff’s Office.
Investigators wrote it appeared to be a “targeted incident,” according to Sheriff Mike Kelley. During a police interview, Strouble “gave incriminating statements.” Police matched a recovered gun to the crime scene, he wrote.
Deputies were called at about 2 a.m. Monday to a home on the 3400 block of Norway Trail for a welfare check and discovered the bodies, the sheriff’s office said.
The victims were identified as Jacob Lambert, 32, Stacy Forde, 54, and Patrick Forde, 55. All three lived at the home.
Lambert was found dead inside a car parked in the driveway, while the older couple were found just inside the home, near the front door.

The Will County Coroner’s Office wrote autopsies were performed Tuesday. The finalized cause and manner of death was pending.
Kelley wrote that the couple’s relationship was on-and-off. Police arrested Strouble at her home in St. John, he wrote. She is being held at the Lake County, Indiana, Jail, awaiting extradition.
