A 75-year-old woman was pronounced dead after she suffered burns to her body in a house fire Wednesday night in the Chicago Lawn neighborhood, Chicago police said.

About 10:15 p.m., officials were called to a fire in the 7000 block of South Bell Avenue where firefighters extinguished a blaze, police said.

The woman was taken to the University of Chicago Medical Center, where she was later pronounced dead.

As of Thursday morning, the woman had yet to be identified. No other injuries or displacements were reported.
