The death of a woman found with head injuries in a Chicago Lawn parking lot was ruled a homicide Saturday, according to the Cook County medical examiner’s office.
Police found the still-unidentified woman unresponsive in the 6700 block of South Western Avenue just before 11:30 a.m. Friday. She was pronounced dead at the scene, but police preliminarily classified it as a death investigation.
An autopsy performed Saturday showed that the woman died of blunt force head trauma and assault and her death was ruled a homicide, according to the medical examiner’s office.
Police said they have not been able to confirm the victim’s exact age and are still investigating.
