Hinsdale was the bullseye for a location when Ron DeRosa decided to open his Alpha Refinery, a health and performance clinic that offers men “a place built specifically for them.”
Located at 12 Salt Creek Lane, DeRosa said he chose that specific location because it gives clients privacy and convenience.
“It sits far enough from the busier parts of town to feel discreet, with plenty of parking, yet it is still central for the surrounding communities,” he said.
The clinic offers advanced diagnostics, hormone optimization, peptide therapy, IV and NAD+ treatments and more.
DeRosa said Alpha Refinery attracts men who range in age from their late 20s through their 70s, with most falling in the 30 to 60 range.
“These are men who are balancing careers, parenting, stress, and the early signs of hormonal and metabolic changes that start to chip away at how they feel and perform,” he said. “The common thread is not a specific age. It is ambition and a desire to feel like themselves again. Our clients are men who are not willing to coast. They want their energy, clarity, strength and presence to match the lives they are working so hard to build.”
DeRosa is clear that Alpha Refinery is not a gym, a spa, or a traditional clinic, but rather is an integrated medical performance and longevity center.
“We combine advanced diagnostics, evidence-based medicine and a refined environment, so men can get real answers and real results in one place,” he said.
Alpha Refinery offers on-site advanced labs, hormone optimization, peptide therapy, PRP for hair restoration, focused shockwave therapy for chronic pain and erectile dysfunction, medical weight loss, IV therapy, and high-end aesthetic treatments in an appointment-only setting.
“A client can walk in, get thoroughly evaluated, and walk out with a clear plan and the tools to execute it,” DeRosa said. “Most places treat symptoms. We focus on uncovering and correcting root causes. Most places hand out generic plans. We build precision, personalized strategies based on each client’s biology, lifestyle and goals.”
Before opening Alpha Refinery, DeRosa, a Naperville resident, spent about 15 years in the biotech and medical technology world.
“I worked alongside primary care, cardiology, urology, neurosurgery, and orthopedic teams, always focused on bringing real solutions to patients and actually solving the problem instead of just masking a symptom,” he said.

“My entire career has been about shifting paradigms in healthcare and improving both the patient experience and the quality of life for them and their families.”
DeRosa brings a significant health change of his own on his resume.
A number of life challenges in late 2019 left him feeling exhausted, foggy, and just not like himself at all, while he continued to gain weight, he said. By 2021, he had put on about 60 pounds.
“I remember looking in the mirror and not recognizing the guy staring back at me anymore,” DeRosa said. “With one toddler at home and another baby on the way, something had to change.”
DeRosa sought information from multiple sources to find out what he needed to do for himself. That journey has been incorporated in Alpha Refinery.
“What I learned, and what now guides Alpha Refinery, is that most men do not need more discipline,” he said. “They need better data, real clinical support, and a clear plan that is actually built around them. That insight is what shaped our one-visit diagnostic model and our focus on optimizing health from the inside out.”
Sean Reeves, 56, said he joined Alpha Refinery about eight weeks ago in hopes of regaining a little bit of his youthful edge.
“In that short period of time, since starting a testosterone replacement therapy, I’ve literally gained 10 pounds of muscle mass and lost nine pounds of body fat mass,” he said.
“It’s these results and the one on one attention I get from the medical staff with every visit that keeps me coming back,” Reeves said. “I can’t wait to see the results in six months to a year from now.”
