The Illinois High School Association has now rescheduled all four of the football state championship games that were postponed in anticipation of a winter storm on Saturday.

The Class 5A game between Providence and Wheaton St. Francis and the Class 6A game between East St. Louis and Fenwick will be played at Illinois State’s Hancock Stadium at 3 p.m. and 6 p.m., respectively, on Tuesday.

The Class 7A game between Brother Rice and St. Rita and the Class 8A game between Mount Carmel and Oswego have been rescheduled for 3 p.m. and 6 p.m., respectively, on Wednesday at Northern Illinois’ Huskie Stadium in DeKalb.

“We are incredibly thankful to NIU, the Huskie Athletic Department, and the DeKalb community for welcoming back the IHSA Football State Finals on short notice,” IHSA Executive Director Craig Anderson said in a statement.

The IHSA stated in a news release that all tickets previously purchased through the Illinois State ticket office for the Class 7A and Class 8A games will be honored in DeKalb, and that additional details about ticketing are expected to be announced on Monday.

Earlier Friday, Illinois State announced its campus will be closed Saturday due to a storm warning that includes the Bloomington-Normal area. So the IHSA was forced to postpone the Saturday slate.

“The safety of student-athletes, coaches, officials and spectators remains our highest priority,” the IHSA stated in a news release.

The 1A, 2A, 3A and 4A games on Friday were played as scheduled.
