Elderly pedestrian killed by car in Lincolnshire

An elderly Lincolnshire man died Tuesday when he was struck by a car, the Lake County Coroner’s Office said.

Bijan Vaziri, 81, was struck Tuesday at 5:18 p.m. near the intersection of Milwaukee Avenue and Knightsbridge Parkway in Lincolnshire, the coroner said.

Police and firefighter paramedics responded to the area and found bystanders performing CPR on Vaziri, who was not responsive, authorities said. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

Vaziri died from blunt force injuries, the coroner said.

The cause of the accident remains under investigation by Lincolnshire Police.
