Paws for a Cause discounting spay, neuter costs in October

Paws for a Cause Vet Care is offering a discount on the prices of spaying and neutering cats and dogs through Oct. 31.

Officials at the Naperville nonprofit veterinary clinic at 1620 Bond St. said they are trying to help families struggling with rising costs while ensuring pets receive the care they need regardless of financial barriers.

Families can save $75 on female dog spay or male dog neuter, $25 on a female cat spay and $50 on male cat neuter from the clinic’s normal rates, a news release said.

The reduced rates are $175 for female dog spay, $125 for male dog neuter, $100 for female cat spay and $75 for male cat neuter, the release said. In addition to the reduced pricing, pets can receive a free microchip with any service.

Shelters across the country are struggling to keep up with rising intakes and are taking in more pets than they are adopting out. Affordable spay and neuter programs help reduce shelter overcrowding, prevent unnecessary euthanasia and keep pets in loving homes, the release said.

Appointments can be scheduled by calling 630-961-8000.
