A victim who appears to be a child was discovered fatally wounded Wednesday morning near the Green Line “L” tracks in the Woodlawn neighborhood, officials said.
The unidentified juvenile was discovered shortly before 8 a.m. outside in the 6000 block of South Prairie Avenue with a gunshot wound to the chest, Chicago police said.
He was pronounced dead at the scene.
No one was in custody for the fatal shooting, and detectives are investigating.
