The driver of a light-colored SUV struck a pedestrian, Russell Bouie, and left the scene without rendering aid, according to a statement from the Police Department. Bouie, 47, of Hazel Crest, died of his injuries two days later at Advocate Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn.
The owner of a car suspected to be the crash vehicle came to the Police Department after learning the police had been at their house, according to the police statement. They were held for 48 hours before being released pending more investigation.
