Two people were found fatally wounded overnight inside a residence in the Englewood neighborhood, Chicago police said.
Officers responded to a call of a person shot shortly after 2:30 a.m. in the 6600 block of South Normal Boulevard at a residence and found two people with gunshot wounds to the head.
A 38-year-old woman and a 44-year-old man were pronounced dead at the scene, police said.
Saturday morning, the man was identified as Byron Thurmond of the same block where he was fatally wounded, according to the Cook County medical examiner’s office. The woman has yet to be identified.
A weapon was recovered, and detectives were investigating.
