Chicago police arrested a Jewel-Osco security guard shortly after she allegedly shot a 17-year-old girl during a fight Tuesday night in front of one of the grocery store’s locations in the Near South Side neighborhood, according to a police report.

Shortly after 10:30 p.m., officers responded to a call of someone shot in the 1200 block of South Wabash Avenue, and found a 17-year-old girl wounded in front of the grocery store in the middle of a large crowd.

The girl suffered a gunshot wound to the right thigh and was taken to Northwestern Memorial Hospital where she was listed in good condition, police said.

A witness told police the girl had thrown water at the security guard inside the grocery store when the suspect pulled out a weapon and shot the teen, per the report. Witnesses saw the security guard driving east on Roosevelt Road  in a black SUV with Iowa plates, the report stated.

Police later arrested the security guard in the South Chicago neighborhood, according to the report.
