Free pipe organ concert Sunday at First Congregational

Jeff Neufeld, music director and organist at First Congregational Church of Elgin, will present a free concert from 4 to 6 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 28, at First Congregational, 256 E. Chicago St.

The performance will be the first stop on the 2025-26 Great Elgin Pipe Organ Tour, which will continue through May at churches throughout Elgin. Some concerts will feature piano/organ duets, nstrumentalists and hymn singing.

Centro de Información annual gala set for Saturday

“Dreams in Blue,” a fundraising gala for Elgin’s Centro de Información, will be held from 5 to 9 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 27, at the Q Center, 1405 N. 5th Ave., St. Charles.

The evening will feature a cocktail hour, dinner, music from Jaz Entertainment and Jose Diaz, an awards presentation and a silent auction, according to the nonprofit’s website. It will be followed by an after-party at 10 p.m. at Dream Hall, 51 S. Grove Ave., Elgin.

Tickets are $200 for the gala and $25 for the after-party and can be purchased at centrodeinformacion.org/gala.

Shared Harvest holding farm-to-table dinner Sunday

Shared Harvest Co-op’s farm-to-able dinner fundraiser will be held from 4 to 7 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 28, at the Plank Road Tap Room, 39W149 Plank Road, Elgin.

The event will feature a four-course, family-style dinner created by Chef Joe of Le Truff Noir in St. Charles, with ingredients sourced from Allison’s Wonderland Farm in Marengo, Tsedah Farm in Crystal Lake and the Wisconsin Grass-Fed Beef Cooperative, according to the group’s website.

Tickets are $90. A vegetarian meal option is available. Dinner will be held outdoors under a tent, rain or shine.
