Our picks for events in and around Chicago this weekend.

Mexican Independence Day Parade

Never been a better time to cheer for the Mexican Independence Day Parade. Head to Little Village to demonstrate your support and pride in our local community. Attendance at last weekend’s Pilsen parade was noticeably lower amid immigration crackdowns. All the more reason to show up for your neighbors.

Noon on Sept. 15 on 26th Street from the Little Village Arch at Albany Avenue to Kostner Avenue; details at littlevillagechamber.org

Lady Gaga

Is it possible that Lady Gaga’s latest album, “Mayhem,” has only been out six months? The fact that her latest hits — from ”Abracadabra” to “Zombieboy” — feel like time-tested pop standards says it all. You’ve got three nights to see this icon live.

8 p.m. Sept. 15, 17 and 18 at United Center, 1901 W. Madison St.; tickets from $894.90 at unitedcenter.com

Pixies

Gen X, get thee to The Salt Shed. Ponder: Where Is My Mind? Did we all grow up to be a Debaser? Following last year’s release of “The Night the Zombies Came,” the Pixies plan to release their first demos and recordings — “The Purple Tapes” — this fall. (Get it on CD, purple-and-black vinyl or cassette tape — of course.)

6 p.m. Sept. 15 at the Salt Shed Fairgrounds outdoors, 1357 N. Elston Ave.; tickets from $77.45 at saltshedchicago.com

HAIM

The Southern California sister trio hits the United Center this weekend with their “I Quit” tour. A Pitchfork review of the album, released in June, said it announces “its intention to be as emotional, self-indulgent, conflicted, silly, stoned, and heartsick as any woman on Stevie Nicks’ green Earth has a right to be.” Why not? Grab your tickets.

8 p.m. Sept. 12 at United Center, 1901 W. Madison St.; tickets from $34.45 at unitedcenter.com

Monster Jam

There’s a new monster truck, and you’ve never seen anything like it. No, it doesn’t have razor sharp teeth like Megalodon. It’s not fiery like Dragon. But it does wag its tail and do backflips. Bailey Circuit, sponsored by Ringling Brothers and Barnum & Bailey Circus, has a bright pink tongue and is quite possibly the cutest big monster truck you’ve ever seen. Check it out this weekend.

7 p.m. Sept. 12, 1 p.m. and 7 p.m. Sept. 13 and 1 p.m. and 6:30 p.m. Sept. 14 at Allstate Arena, 6920 N. Mannheim Road, Rosemont; tickets from $22.60 at monsterjam.com

Mojo Brookzz

The Chicago native Dyon Brooks takes the mic this weekend, following his spring debut on Tyler Perry’s Netflix series “She the People.” But you likely already knew him from Instagram and TikTok. The show’s already sold out, but there’s always the secondary market.

“Inside Jeopardy!”

Who is a “Jeopardy!” superfan? Find out this weekend at a live taping of the “Inside Jeopardy!” podcast at the Chicago Theatre. The show, hosted by Michael Davies and Sarah Whitcomb Foss, will feature an interactive “Jeopardy!” game, hosted by Ken Jennings. “Celebrity Jeopardy!” champion W. Kamau Bell, “Jeopardy! Masters” contestant Sam Buttrey and “Jeopardy!” champion Juveria Zaheer will also appear.

“Twihard!”

Or maybe you’re a “Twilight” superfan? If you are, you know Sept. 13 marks National Twilighters Day — also Bella’s birthday. Perfect excuse to catch the musical parody “Twihard!” The Tribune called it “something magical, a hilarious, loving, musically gorgeous tribute and riff to a series that means a lot to a lot of people.” Trey Plutnicki, of “Squid Game: The Challenge,” and Maxwell Peters, of “PEN15,” join the cast this weekend. Go on Sept. 13, and you can listen to a cast discussion before the show and attend an after party at Neon Gardens.

Through Sept. 28 at the Apollo Theater, 2550 N. Lincoln Ave.; tickets from $54.65 at twihardthemusical.com

Rhinoceros Theater Festival

More than 40 companies and solo artists offer performances featuring themes of resistance and rebellion. It’s a pay-what-you can theater festival, one that’s been around for 36 years now. It’s the sort of event that reminds you why Chicago fringe theater remains so vibrant, so welcoming.

Through Sept. 28 at various locations; tickets at rhinofest.com

Lakeview East Festival of the Arts

Maybe you’ve already been to a lot of festivals, but summer is fading fast. Go while you still can. More than 120 artists will set up shop for this juried show. Check out family activities and live music on two stages.

11 a.m.-10 p.m. Sept. 13 and 11 a.m.-7 p.m. Sept. 14 on Broadway between Belmont Avenue and Hawthorne Place; details at lakevieweastfestivalofthearts.com

Ravenswood ArtWalk

Ravenswood, long a creative hub, opens up during its 23rd annual “Tour of Arts & Industry.” Glimpse the inside of studios and galleries, watch pop-up performances and browse the marketplace. ArtWalk will also feature two stages of music as well as a beer garden, kids activities and more.

11 a.m.-6 p.m. Sept. 13-14 in the Ravenswood Industrial Corridor, Lawrence Avenue to Irving Park Road; details at ravenswoodchicago.org
